Design Contest Rules
Welcome to the Surinaams Goudmuseum Design Contest. Here are the rules:
Eligibility Criteria for Participants
To participate in the contest, you must meet the following criteria:
Architectural firms, structural draftsperson, construction companies that can deliver sustainable and self-sufficient design that meets the design wishes and technical construction aspects.

Key Dates & Phases
Design Competition Phases:
Phase 1: Preliminary Design (October - December)
- Architectural firms can register from October 7th to October 31st.
- Upon registration, they'll be personally contacted for a virtual meeting due to the international nature of the initiative and the base location of the initiator in Suriname.
- Firms will present their mission, vision, and goals to Team Gold Museum Suriname, Team New Futuristic Minds, and consultant architect Jeroen van Zuidgeest.
- Ten participants will be selected in this phase.
Phase 2: Final Design Phase (January - March 2024)
- On January 8th, the 10 selected architects will present their concepts to an extended jury.
- The top 3 winners will be announced immediately after
Phase 3: Winner Selection
- On March 25th, the three finalists will again present their finalized designs to an extended jury.
- The ultimate winner will be announced on March 29th.

Each participant can submit only one entry for the contest. Multiple entries will result in disqualification.
The winner of the contest will be selected for the construction of the Surinaams Goudmuseum.
